Leukaemia, Lymphoma Society Indoor Golf Classic begins on January 15th
Goodness of golf in indoor environment for the sake of humanity seems to be a fair deal.
The date for the 19th annual Leukaemia and Lymphoma Society Indoor Golf Classic has been announced. The event, sponsored by Investment Technology Group, will take place at 7 p.m. on January 15th, 2011.
The venue for the big event is yet to be finalized but according to the organizers, Radisson Hotel New Rochelle has been shortlisted.
The purpose of this event is to generate funds for the patients of Leukaemia and Lymphoma, so that their lives can be improved. IGC has already generated more than $1.5 million in the last decade and aims to raise $138,000 this time.
Open invitations will be distributed in the public, as per agenda. Tickets will be sold for $135 per guest. However, foursome opportunities are also available.
The event will kick off at night with a cocktail hour, in which a Hole-in-One contest will be held. In this segment, a player will get an opportunity of beating a professional golfer, which is exciting. However, it is an 18-hole mini golf session; therefore,
cheats are allowed during the play. In the process, players can purchase each other’s caddie and putting range on an auction price. Dinner follows the game in the ballroom of the hotel, after which there is an option of purchasing the clubs used by the professionals.
A silent auction will take place in this case and prizes will be distributed to the winners by Titleist.
David Warmund and his wife Andi Warmund, who are regulars at LLS for seven years, told the press, "It is such an easy event to support because it is just so much fun with good food and drinks, as well as plenty of laughs."
They highlighted the fact that IGC gave an amazing opportunity to the people, by which they can help the needy and at the same time also have fun with their families. Moreover, they insisted that once the participants get hooked up with the event, they want
to come back.
The fundraiser for Leukaemia and Lymphoma patients will take place in New York on January 15th to celebrate life with golf.
