So, i bruise extremely easily, get very frequent headaches, lately have been feeling fatigued even with a good amount of sleep, and have been feeling a bit dizzy sometimes, and have even had like blurred vision for a short period of time, almost feeling like i might pass out. i've been losing weight, and all of this has been going on for a while now. and i have a friend who has leukemia and these symptoms seem very similar to what she had, is is possible that this is leukemia? please, help and information would be appreciated.

please don't say, just go to a doctor, i need to know if there is a high possibility that i have it. thank you very much!

  1. There's a high possibility you have something ... it COULD be leukemia ... it could ALSO be iron deficiency anemia, diabetes, or several other things

The only person who can order  the lab tests to tell them apart is a doctor. So go see a doctor!

  2. I understand your concern. You might have anemia however. Get some iron tablets and take (with orange juice) for a week. If you do not feel better in a week, go see the doctor. Either way go see the doctor, somebody posted diabetes. That could be possible also.

  3. Go to a doctor anyway. How old are you? You could be anemic or something, which is important to treat too. Only a doctor can determine why you have the symptoms, it's not something that can be determined w/out any doc seeing you.

I wish you all the best, just make an appointment soon to take this off your mind and treat whatever it might be.

I am sorry about your friend having leukemia. You and him/her are two different people, unrelated...so..just go to your doc and get checked up for your sysmptoms (which dont sound like fun anyway)

  4. well i would buy a medical book

  5. The problem here is that without looking at blood counts, we cant tell you.  Those symptoms are very vague, which is why many people dont realize they have leukemia early.

Honestly, given you are 14, I would say you are just having growing pains.  Why dont you mention this to your parents or gaurdians?

  6. You don't want us to say go to a doctor, but how can anyone OTHER than a doctor tell you if you do or don't have Leukemia?

For the record.....I had three doctors tell me I had a TEXTBOOK Inguinal Hernia - I went in for surgery.....and it turned out to be Cancer......Hodgkins Lymphoma.   But everyone else thought it was a hernia too....

My point being - you need to get a professional to test you and examine you.

Yahoo Answers is a great forum, BUT for something as serious as what you are asking, I must advise you seek Medical Advice for a Professional....

    Thanks.  Good luck to you....

  7. Even the best of doctors can't diagnose you over the internet. Make the appointment, see the doctor, they will examine you and take blood and probably order other tests. Take a deep breath and call the Doc. Good luck

  8. Have you caught a fever recently? Fevers kill Cancer! So if you have had a fever, you don't have it.

  9. I don't want ot be rude - but the symptoms you describe can be a million different things.

Not one person here can diagnose you over the net - not even a qualified oncologist. You need to see a physician who will start with a basic CBC and then move on if necessary.

The symptoms you described are also consistant with diabetes, the flu, stress, etc.....

    Why think the worse???
