The contact forced open a nasty gash above Ronaldo’s left eye and the Madrid forward had to get it patched up on the sidelines.
David Navarro insisted that his total intentions were to challenge for the ball only, and no malice was intended towards the Portuguese international.
"It was an accident, at no time did I try to cause harm to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629," said Navarro, who has a history of violent conduct at his cards, told the Levante website.
Navarro, who is not a popular figure when it comes to hurting opponents, has had several past incidents of misconduct during football matches.

Amid all the controversies and past misconduct, Navarro yet again emphasised that he had no intent to cause Ronaldo pain, and said, "These are things that happen during a game and I regret having wounded him, but I repeat that it was something completely
involuntary."
It was also reported that Navarro had contacted Ronaldo on Monday, and apologised for the un-ceremonial incident while also wishing him a speedy recovery.
Reports by the country’s football federation, FPF, suggest that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gabon-c2902 on Wednesday. And he will have tests to measure the extent of the damage.
