Levante vs. Barcelona – Spanish La Liga Review (Part 1)
Barcelona were able to win their third consecutive Spanish La Liga title under Josep Guardiola. The former Sevilla star Seydou Keita scored for the Spanish Champions and helped them take a single point against Levante. Barcelona required only a single point
to win the title and they won it in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 as they faced Levante.
Despite the fact that Levante drew the game later on with the help of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
With only three games left in the Spanish La Liga, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Seydou-Keita-c33177 opened the scoring for Barcelona after receiving a wonderful pass from Xavi Hernandez. Later on Felipe Caicedo helped Levante even the scoring but Barcelona
still managed to become the Spanish Champions.
There were a lot of Barcelona supporters present in the Stadium Ciudad, located in Valencia. The spectators waited anxiously for their side to at least draw the game so that they can be assure of the fact that they have won the Spanish La Liga.
Barcelona kicked things off and started to build their attack patiently. The visiting crowd was behind Barcelona and soon the opening goal was scored by Seydou Keita just before the half hour mark. With the goal being scored by Barcelona, the visiting supporters
settled down a bit as they simply knew that their side was going to either win or draw the game and win the all-important league title.
After a very patient build up from Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez picked up the ball on the right flank. The Spanish maestro gave an inch perfect through ball to Seydou Keita who slid in and opened the scoring for Barcelona. The former Sevilla man timed his run
perfectly and was at the receiving end of the pass. Keita had to stretch himself a bit to reach the ball but nonetheless he still managed to score and gave Barcelona the lead that they deserved.
As Keita opened the scoring for Barcelona, another goal was expected. The Spanish Champions were pressing throughout the game and tried to find another goal in order to confirm their win over Levante.
However, with the referee blowing his half-time whistle, Levante were given the all-important rest and as the second half kicked off, the home side were totally reformed.
Levante continued their great second half performance just like every other game in the Spanish La Liga.
The home team combined well in the midfield and after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique made a howler at the back, Levante took advantage of it and scored the equalizing goal of the game.
Gerard Pique had the opportunity to clear the ball to safety. With Caicedo right on his back, Pique was expected to either pass the ball towards http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Victor-c36011 Valdes – who could clear it – or he could just simply shoot it out wide and give Levante a throw-in.
However, Pique opted to dribble past the striker but the Spanish centre back failed miserably. The Ecuadorian striker took full advantage of Pique dribbling the ball in a dangerous zone and snatched the ball away from him.
