Levante vs. Barcelona – Spanish La Liga Review (Part 2)
Caicedo easily snatched the ball away from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gerard-c14664 Pique and made a run towards the penalty area and easily finished the ball in the back of the net. There was nothing that anyone could have done about the goal as Valdes was left alone at the back after Pique
literally allowed Caicedo to get past him.
With the second half starting, Barcelona tried to regroup themselves up front. It was the Argentinean striker Lionel Messi who was heading Barcelona’s attack against Levante.
Messi was simply outstanding throughout the game but was quite unlucky a few times that he couldn’t find the back of the net.
In the first half, Messi took four shots on target and they were all well saved by the Levante goal stopper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gustavo-c15404 Adolfo Munua. It was an unlucky night for the Argentinean striker who later struck the inner side of the pole as well.
During the second half, Barcelona seemed to have lost concentration. After conceding a goal right before the 45 minutes, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 really needed to find another goal in order to confirm their win against Levante. However, the home team looked quite strong
at the back and they defended well in order to deny Barcelona the goal scoring opportunity they were craving for.
The goal scoring opportunities did eventually come but the Spanish Champions couldn’t really find the back of the net.
Lionel Messi made a wonderful run from the right flank just before the hour mark. The Argentinean maestro dribbled past six Levante players and finally took his shot on goal. It was quite a shock to see the ball striking the inner side of the post and not
finding the back of the net.
Lionel Messi was left shaking his head and holding his hair but there was no denying to the fact that the ball did not cross the goal line. It was hard to imagine Lionel Messi missing a goal from an unusually easy angle. However, it definitely looked as
if it wasn’t Messi’s day.
Messi was again a threat to the Levante back four. The Argentinean made another great run to get past all the Levante back four. The Argentinean got past three on the flank and then got rid of the last one right inside the penalty area. With the ball on
his right foot, it was hard for Messi to take a shot, so he decided to bring it on to his stronger left foot. It took quite long for him to make such a move and the Levante centre back, Nano recovered well and denied Messi the goal scoring opportunity.
A few minutes later, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 made another great run after receiving the ball in the midfield. The Argentinean striker showed the world why he is considered to be the best player in the world.
Even though the run was perfectly timed, the shot taken by Lionel Messi on goal went off the target. It seemed as if he was finally going to score another goal but he was unlucky yet again as the ball drifted off the target.
