Levante vs. Real Madrid – Player Ratings for Real Madrid (Part 1)
Iker Casillas – 7
The Real Madrid goal stopper rarely had anything to do during the first half.
Los Blancos were all on the attack and Madrid didn’t let Levante penetrate through their defensive walls. Throughout the first half, Madrid were in the opponent’s half and Iker Casillas rarely had anything to do. As the second half kicked off, things changed
for both the sides. Real Madrid earned a red card and Iker Casillas had a few crucial saves to make before he conceded the only goal scored during the game.
For most of the game, Iker Casillas was on his toes and predicted all the shots perfectly as he made the perfect saves. He even made a vital stop during the hour mark. However, Levante did manage to score a winner later and Casillas was not at fault as the
ball found the back of the net.
Kone’s shot was simply unstoppable and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 couldn’t do anything about it. Overall, it was a good performance by the Real Madrid captain.
Marcelo – 5
The Brazilian full back was deployed in his favourite left back position. The Real Madrid star tried his luck but he simply couldn’t do much to help Madrid; in fact, it was Marcelo who was caught out of position as Levante scored the winning goal of the
game.
Marcelo’s performance affected the Madrid game throughout the fixture. With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cristiano-Ronaldo-c9629 missing out on the left flank, it was Angel Di Maria who played on the left. Marcelo and Angel Di Maria did not really click on the same flank and they were both
not really a threat to the Levante back line.
In the first half, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcelo-c23554 looked to be lively. He was good while moving up the flank. The Brazilian star really aided the Real Madrid side by moving forward and trying to help his side find the back of the net. However, it was a poor day for him defensively
and it was his fault when Levante scored the winning goal. Later, he was substituted by Mesut Ozil in the left back role.
Ricardo Carvalho – 6
It was a night to forget for the Portuguese centre back. Carvalho is famous for his solid defending but it was definitely not his day against Levante. His defensive partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670 was the one who saved him a lot of times during the game.
Carvalho was silent for most of the first half. Real Madrid were dominating the game with all their men on the pitch. Levante rarely got to see the ball for a long time and Madrid enjoyed a lot of possession in the opposition’s territory.
Carvalho stood his ground and throughout the first half he looked to be solid and on his toes. He made life hard for Levante as he didn’t them pass through. However, as the second half started, Levante looked to be a different side.
The Levante striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 man to catch the Levante man. It was hard for him to catch up with Levante’s counter attacking tactics and pace. Generally, it was a sloppy performance by the Real
Madrid centre back.
