Levante vs. Real Madrid – Player Ratings for Real Madrid (Part 2)
Pepe – 7
While his centre back partner, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-Carvalho-c30973 was not as consistent as expected; he was simply outstanding throughout the game. Pepe was able to give a solid performance for Real Madrid and he showed that he can easily fill in for Ricardo Carvalho, whenever
he is having an off day.
Just like all the other Madrid defenders, Pepe was rarely seen in action during the first forty five minutes. The Portuguese centre back was rarely called into action defensively as Levante were busy defending throughout the first half.
Real Madrid were simply brilliant throughout the first half of the game. Even though they could not find the back of the net, they were simply phenomenal compared to Levante. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Iker-Casillas-c16815 did not get the ball even once and that shows that Madrid were defending
perfectly. One of the basic reasons why Real Madrid were the better side at the back was Pepe.
Pepe is famous for losing his head on the pitch and he lived up to his expectations of doing just that towards the end of the game. His push on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Xavi-Torres-c37053 in the back simply showed that he is not a composed defender.
However, later during the game, he helped Real Madrid stay in the game. It was Valdo’s outstanding through ball which was perfectly intercepted by Pepe inside the penalty area. The interception was very crucial for Real Madrid to stay into the game.
Pepe showed his commitment throughout the game. It was his fault which led to Karim Benzema’s goal being disallowed. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-c29670’s run was totally mistimed and the referee had to rule the goal out as he was offside.
Sergio Ramos – 6
Sergio Ramos took charge of the right flank as Real Madrid played Levante away from home. Ramos is currently considered to be one of the best right backs in the world. However, the Spaniard was not up to the mark as he played against Levante last weekend.
Sergio Ramos showed that he has the defensive capabilities during the first half of the game. Real Madrid were dominant and they were pressing high up the pitch in order to pressurize their opposition.
Most of the first half was played outside Levante’s 18 yard box and that is the reason why http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sergio-Ramos-c33096 shined defensively. He found it easy to remove any threat on the right flank and he was good while moving up the pitch as well.
Sergio Ramos showed composure throughout the first half of the game. The Spaniard stayed behind whenever it was necessary and that is how Madrid were good at the back and defending perfectly. However, with the second half starting, Levante started to cause
Real Madrid a lot of problems.
Levante totally changed their style of play as the second half kicked off. It was Sergio Ramos who was troubled by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javi-Venta-c18025. However, at the start of the second half Venta was not troubling him much as Ramos was a consistent threat on the attack.
Generally, it was a disappointing performance by the Spaniard as Real Madrid lost the game and he couldn’t do much about it.
