Levante find themselves in a select group of 8 teams that remain in the hunt of qualification for the next edition of UEFA Champions League.
While La Liga followers cheer the likes of Atletico Madrid, Athletic Bilbao and Levante for a 4th place finish in La Liga, Levante have remained at their business quietly.
With four matches remaining until the end of the season, Juan Ignacio http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martinez-c24468’s side have the chance of qualifying for UEFA Champions League, as much as any of their peers.
Reflecting on the situation, the Levante coach was adamant that his unfancied charges have everything to play for in the remaining matches of 2011/12 season. He revealed that it would be a dream to participate in the elite European club competition and revealed
his players will fight until the end for it.
He added that Levante need to build on their impressive outing against Sevilla last weekend and make their form count against struggling Granada to inch closer to their ultimate objective.
Despite the optimism, Martinez claimed that La Granotes cannot relax against El Grana who are attacking unit with a lethal counter attack.
Continuing on the topic, he commented that he is anticipating a tough fixture with plenty of fireworks on offer from both outfits as they need points as much as they do to make their end of season objectives come true.
"There is only a little bit of the league left and we are playing for such a nice dream which is to play in Europe. We are immersed in this dream. Our grand finale starts with Granada. We need to build on the draw we got at Sevilla in the last game.”
"Granada have a lethal counter-attack and are a very attacking side. It will be a dangerous game because they still need points for survival and they will come here to surprise us and beat us."
When quizzed whether he is affected by events elsewhere in Spanish top flight football, Martinez reckoned that only they are holders of their destiny and will be foolish to believe otherwise.
"The teams below us are going to give everything, but we are dependent on ourselves and we are not going to look at the others, but concentrate on our games.”
The Valencian outfit are fifth in La Liga points table, a meagre three points adrift of 4th placed Malaga.
