Question:

Levaquin antibiotic?

Doc prescribed Levaquin for what she thinks is a staph infection on my chin...

I thought it was acne...

If it were acne and not staph, should the Levaquin clear up either?

And, if it is staph... how long before I should see it clear up?

  1. Yea ask doc for keflex, levaquin is $140 for 5 pills.

  2. levofloxacin is an appropriate choice if your doc thought there was a possibility of MRSA, was worried about contamination from spit, or felt there was a possibility of abscess formation. it should help with the acne as well, although it wouldn't be a first-line choice for that. the staph might take a week to quiet down and healing could be a few more weeks after that.
