Level 2 swimming?

I teach level 2 swim lessons- most of the kids are between 4-7- they DO NOT sit still. As i try to work with each of them individually, the others stray from the wall and it is extremely difficult to keep them busy. I try to move as quickly as possible and keep them all interested, but it is close to impossible! what kinds of things can they be doing that are safe but are a little more exciting than bobs or blowing bubbles! Im not sure if such things exist, but i seriously need HELP!

  1. play red light, green light. its fun and good practice. green=fast kick, yellow=slow kick, red=stop, then throw in something like blue= jump in or blow bubbles.

I teach all levels of swim lessons and ALL my kids love games!

  2. Try to do things that are inclusive.  Like races of arm strokes across the pool.  When you do have to take them one on one tell them that they need to have one hand on the wall at all times before you even start.  The first time they go crazy tell them that they need to have a hand on the wall and next time they will have to sit out for 5 minutes because it isn't safe.  (This is important to say because parents can get upset if you have no good reason).  Good luck.

  3. it kinda depends on the child

sumtimes u just need 2 b a little harder on them nd otha times u need 2 tink off games lyk on the side of the pool, givw them a ring or toy and put a circle sumwhere nd tell them 2 throw it in the circle nd stuff tell them they cnt move nd who ever is the most still can go nxt or sumting

but even if u r wif 1 child u stilll need 2 b talkin 2 da othas so they no u r watching nd tings

u dnt hve 2 look at them just if u hear sumting wrong just say their name nd tell them 2 stop nd if they keep doing it make them sit away from the others nd go last but b careful of sum parents who dnt no wot is goin on nd tings
