I need help leveling up on Kingdom Hearts 2. I'm only at level 51 right now, and I need to get up to at least 80.

(I'm almost finished with the game, I'm trying to beat Xemnas)

Is there something I'm missing?

  1. There are a few good areas to level up. The fastest way is to fight the giant swarm of Rapid Thrusters above Pride Rock in the Pride Lands. If you don't have it already, head to the Postern in Hollow Bastion and talk to Yuna for the Gull Wing Keyblade. This increases the amount of exp you'll get if you kill an enemy while in critical health. Sora should also have the Experience Boost ability by now (the latest het gets it is level 17, if you picked the Shield in the beginning). Equipping both will dramatically increase the amount of experience you receive when defeating an enemy while in critical health.

When you land in the Pride Lands, put Simba and Goofy in your party and turn off Simba's Healing Herb ability. First and foremost, save your game in case something bad happens (like you die), unless you don't care about dying. Next, run around and get hit by enemies (try the Savannah) until you are at critical health. Try not to dip too far down, since the Rapid Thrusters can still hit you and kill you in five or six blows. Now, head up to through the King's Den to the top of the mountain.

The experience is only increased if Sora himself lands the blow, so try to steal as many kills from your teammates as possible. The easiest way to ensure this is to use Magenega to cluster them all together. You should be able to kill at least a dozen this way before the spell fades. Continue doing this until there's only a few left hanging around in the sky. Don't kill them! Instead, run out of the area and run back in. This way, you won't have to run through a bunch of other areas to get the swarm to respawn. The entire swarm will have reappeared. Fight to your heart's content, and watch your experience skyrocket.

If you would like a more traditional method of leveling up, with less risk, fight the Creepers and Assassins on Naught's Skyway in The World that Never Was. They give 400 exp a kill, and there's a ton of them. You may not want to try the Experience Boost trick, unless you are confident that you can avoid the attacks.

If you DO choose to use the Experience Boost trick here, I suggest unequipping any Combo Plus abilities, equipping the Negative Combo ability, and equipping Explosion. This way, every other hit will be an Explosion, and the enemies won't have much of a chance to hit you.

  2. Equip Fenrir (if you have it) and equip negative combo

Equip explosion and unequip every other attacking ability (guard break slapshot air combo plus etc...)

Then equip as many combo boosts as possible, go to TWTNW and go to any large group of enemies (even beserkers) use magnega and then wham X until you use explosion then repeat, your levels fly up

(i made it from level 34 to 74 in one day :D)

Also if you do try the rapid thrusters technique then keep potions handy and turn off all item boosts in hand, you may die and I'm not kidding

  3. Have you gone to the moogle to make some equipment? if you didn't, you should because the moogle will make good equipment for your characters for the battles ahead, too.
