  1. you would have to call in a professional to do the job for you.

  2. If you mean the floor slopes from one side of the room to the other, then you have a problem levelling (maybe a self levelling compound can be used from your d-i-y store). If however you mean that the existing boards are warped, creating an uneven surface, then you can hire a floor sander. They do create a lot of dust so ensure you empty and seal off the room from the rest of the house before use. Also ensure that all nails are given an extra punch so they don't tear the sanding belt.

  3. You cant

you must remove the skirting & lift the existing flooring, then bolt timbers to the sides of the existing joists, then relay the flooring onto the new level timbers then refit skirting. then decorate.

  4. You cant....Simply because the floor will need small wedges in places to level it and the only way is to take up the floorboards..

Bearing in mind they sit below  the skirting boards too, it would hardly be worth it unless the floor is way out of level..

Consult a local builder for a professional opinion.

  5. Far too expensive, unless you have a special reason to do it. Leave it as it is, wavy floors are quaint.

  6. Leave it.

I spent thousands levelling all the floors in my old house, but it's just a waste of money and time, and creates a lot of mess. I had all new floors laid, and in some rooms new joists too..

Uneven, wobbly floors are part of the character of old houses.
