Question:

Lever (on faucet) that turns on shower broke?

I have a bathtub that has one handle to turn on the water, and there is a faucet and a shower head. To turn on the shower, I just would pull up a metal lever in the faucet, but the lever broke; the top part came off and the bottom part fell out, and I think that part of the bottom part fell down the drain. Now I can't turn on my shower unless I stick my finger up in the faucet to block part of the flow of water.

Does Home Depot or a hardware store have easy parts for fixing this?

Thanks.

  1. your tub "DIVERTER" cannot be rebuilt.  you need to change the tub diverter spout.   home depot carries them.

  2. Yes,its called a divertor. Its part of the dress kit(chrome) in a pack but they probably sell them separately

  3. If you go to your local Home Depot, most of them have a "Master Plumber" that works in the store that can offer you advice as to how and what you need to do your repair.
