A 110 pound boy sits on a seesaw 6 feet from the fulcrum. How far from the fulcrum should an 80-pound girl sit so the seesaw is balanced?

  1. I believe that it will work the same in ft-lbs as in metric. So,

    (110 lbs)(6 ft)=(80 lbs)x  <==with x as unknown distance

    x = 660 ft-lbs/80 lbs

    x=8.25 ft
