Bayer 04 Leverkusen are closely monitoring former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 U-21 international star’s progress, as they look to find a quality number two goalkeeper behind Bernd Leno.
The former Bayern Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/1-FC-Köln-c38161 shot-stopper is on the radar of the Bundesliga giants, as he is currently a free agent following his stint with the relegated Cologne. The relegated side released him after the humiliating campaign
last term. He was voted among the top three goalies in Germany by a sports magazine.
On the other hand, Leverkusen played Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, and Leno was lucky to avoid a red card penalty during the clash. If the worst case had happened with Leno being sent-off, the Bundesliga side’s replacement would
have been in the shape of the raw goalie http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Yelldell.
The 30-year-old player has never played in the German top-flight league and is yet to appear for the club in the Bundesliga as well. Therefore, the Factory Squad outfit want to sign a veteran goalie as number two to Leno. Leno
was captured from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 last season and a new keeper is top priority in the ongoing transfer window.
The Lions sporting director Rudi Voller has maintained that the club is exploring options in the coaching department, and that Rensing is also a target as he fits the bill.
"We are considering things and Rensing is also in those thoughts," Leverkusen's director of sport Rudi Voller was quoted as saying in an interview.
The 28-year-old custodian was let go off from Cologne after they were demoted to the second division. Currently, the player is unemployed and is looking for potential suitors. He was contracted to the Billy Goats until the summer
of 2013 and still has one more year on his deal.
Rensing is forced out of the team setup and is not practicing with them. Moreover, he is keeping himself in shape by hiring a trainer and is mulling over time to find a new suitor before the transfer windows shuts down in the coming
days.
The goalkeeper played 53 games for the Bavarian giants and made another 32 appearances for FC Koln.
