Bayer Leverkusen manager, Sascha Lewandowski, has expressed his satisfaction on the win over FC Kaiserslautern and is confident of a place in Europe at the end of the season.
Werkself got the better of FC Kaiserslautern in their last league game at the BayArena on Wednesday, April 11, with a 3-1 scoreline. The home side snatched all three points from the relegation threatened Kaiserslautern side after

Sascha Lewandowski, who is joint manager with Sami Hyypia, admitted that it was a very important win for his side and hailed the team for putting in a sensation display in front of the home fans.
The manager stated that the players showed what they are capable of in the game and insisted that the side deserved to win after a spirited second-half performance. He feels that there are still some areas to work on but is satisfied
with the overall result.
Bayer Leverkusen sacked Robin Dutt last week after a string of disappointing results and appointed Sami Hyypia and U-19 team manager Lewandowski as the personnel to manage the side until the end of the season.
“We set out to achieve a lot of things from this game. We were much more determined in the second half and deserved to win in the end. It wasn't all good but it was important that we finally won again,” he was quoted as saying
in an interview.
On the other hand, Kaiserslautern boss Krassimir Balakov claimed that it was a disappointing result for his team but was happy with the way the team played. He admitted that there is certainly improvement in the team and is confident
of keeping the side in the first division for the next campaign.
“I'm happy with the way my team played, but not with the result. I'm confident that we will win again this season - I saw an improvement today,” he concluded.
