Lewis Hamilton, defeated but certainly not dejected
After having ended the Driver’s Championship at fourth place the McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton is convinced his team will come back next season to regain the drivers' crown.
The British driver got his name deleted from the record book for being the youngest champion as the German driver Sebastian Vettel won the world Championship in Abu Dhabi on Sunday. Vettel is currently 23 years 136 days old and has bagged the first title
of his career in only third full season with the series.
Now, as the season has ended, Vettel stands at the top of the charts followed by Fernando Alonso of Ferrari. The third place in the season’s championship has been taken by the other Red Bull driver Mark Webber, while Hamilton leads his teammate Jenson Button
who holds fifth pace.
The driver struggled very hard all through the season but some poor driving shows at the last part of the season, slipped him down from the top place of the Drivers’ Championship. Hard luck met the driver initially at the Italian Grand Prix and followed
him to the next race in Singapore as well, while at the Japanese Grand Prix too, he was not able to finish anywhere above 5th place.
Although his chances of bagging victory were very rare yet he kept striving until the very last lap of the final season decider, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
However, the 2008 champ firmly believes in his team, McLaren, proclaiming that they will return for the upcoming season even stronger than this one.
Although the season comes to an end with this last race, yet the factories are just as busy as they have been all through the last season. There are only 15 weeks to go and the cars would once again assemble at the Bahrain Grand Prix for the curtain raiser
of 2011.
The 25-year-old while talking to the media about his future aspirations said, "My thoughts are already on next year and how I can prepare myself better for the first race. I have got to be in top shape and focused. No distractions from outside. Every- thing
has to be ticked off. I am confident McLaren can make the step back up next season.”
He further explained that he is looking forward for an ‘awesome car’ to enter the 2011 Formula One season. He believes that the team does not lack anything; both the team drivers are pushing very hard, with a finely tailored race strategy and zero team issues
either. However, the driver reckons that all this is secondary and a strong car comes above all to have a successful season. During the past season, Hamilton announced time and again that they possessed only the third fastest car of the season as Red Bull
and Ferrari were much faster than their MP4-25.
"We want to battle at the very front from the first race of the season. Imagine then if we applied the same philosophy of development through the season that we have in the last couple of years to a car that is already really good from the start. We will
have an even better chance of getting everything together,” the only black driver of the series stated.
The British driver continued saying that the team has all the required resources and has got some real intelligent brains in their factory back home. However, he admitted that Red Bull along with other teams like Mercedes GP need to come back in great form
next season.
The driver concluded saying that he could hardly wait for the next season to begin and snatch away the title.
