Lewis Hamilton: I was in right place at the end of 2011 Abu Dhabi GP – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he was in the right place at the end of the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix which took place on November 13, at the Yas Marina Circuit.
Hamilton added that to be honest he does not feel Abu Dhabi win is a turning point in his life. He also mentioned that he is just feeling it was a weekend where things went right for him and that he was in the right place.
Apart from that, the Brit talked about the upcoming Brazil race weekend and stated that he wants to do better again in the last round of the 2011 Formula 1 season after the Abu Dhabi race.
In addition, he mentioned that he just wants to make sure he will be in the same place in Brazil as he was in Abu Dhabi.
Talking to reporters, the 2008 world champion commented, “If I can continue to position myself well then there is no reason why we cannot continue to have races like that. I wouldn't necessarily [say that I] have my mojo back, if that is the right word.
I have had some wins this year so, [it's been] on and off. But I will definitely try to have my mum, my family and my brother here more often.”
He went on to say, “Maybe in the future I will try to be less critical [of myself]. I don't know what it is like when you talk to the other drivers; I don't know if they are as hard on themselves as I am.”
The Woking-based outfit driver managed the race triumph in the 2011 Formula 1 season until now for the third time at the Yas Marina Circuit. He was very competitive in his MP4-26 car throughout the Abu Dhabi race weekend.
Hamilton started the race from the second position at the Abu Dhabi racetrack and after battling it out with his rivals and teammate Jenson Button, he won the race in the end.
After winning his third race of the season in Abu Dhabi recently, the 26-year-old driver is placed at the fifth place with 227 points in the standings at the moment.
Let’s see how he ends the ongoing season after taking part in the Brazilian race weekend.
