Lewis Hamilton aims victory in 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is aiming to claim victory in 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix which is going to be held at Hungaroring in Budapest on July 29.
Hamilton is currently standing at fifth place in the drivers’ rankings with 92 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and is behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
Furthermore, he has performed quite remarkably in the current season so far. He was the most consistent point scorer during the start of the season as he secured third podium finish in the first three grands prix and claimed pole position in the first two races.
Afterwards, he suffered with the poor pit stop strategy in two of the next three races. Nonetheless, he claimed an amazing victory in the Canadian GP after setting off from the second grid slot.
Later, he struggled with the limited downforce and the issue of tyre degradation in the last several races. Additionally, although he faced difficulties in the preceding race and could not pocket even a single point, nonetheless, he is targeting to fight back in the forthcoming race and wants to begin his summer break with a good feeling.
In addition, he said that he is very much pleased with the team’s performance in the season so far and admired their efforts for bringing the essential updates.
“The car was great in Germany. We could have won,” Hamilton is quoted by Metro. “I've always known the team are doing everything they can, and they did a great job to bring the upgrades they did for that race. We have clearly now shown we have the pace.”
He also said that he is feeling highly confident as they are heading towards the approaching race.
“I've still got confidence within myself - that has never wavered - it was just unfortunate what happened in Germany. It would now be good to end this part of the season on a high, and we have another shot at it this weekend,” he added.
Let’s see how the 2008 world champion comes up in the season ahead.
