Lewis Hamilton aims victory in 2012 Italian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is confidently looking forward to achieve victory in the 2012 Italian Grand Prix which is going to be held at Autodromo de Monza this weekend.
Hamilton is presently standing at 5th position in the drivers’ rankings with 117 points. Moreover, he is ahead of his teammate, Jenson Button who scored an amazing win in the Belgian GP last week and is behind Kimi Raikkonen.
It will be important to mention that the British driver could not score even a single point in the last race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps as unfortunately he was retired after Romain Grosjean of Lotus drifted across him in the first lap at turn one. Meanwhile,
due to their clash, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Sergio Perez of Sauber also had to face the retirement.
Even though, he was very upset over the unpleasant incident at Spa due to which he lost some crucial points in the championship battle. Nonetheless, he has asserted that he is not paying attention to the last week’s occurrence and is positively looking forward
to win the approaching race.
“The first laps out of the pits on Friday always feels incredible because we have such little downforce and the ratios are so long. It feels like you never stop accelerating - and then you hit the brakes and the car feels really unstable, because the wings
aren't doing much to keep it settled. You soon get used to it, but it's always exciting to be driving flat-out around Monza because it's such a different experience from anywhere else we visit. I've never won at Monza before - I'll be doing everything I can
to take the victory this weekend,” he said.
In addition, he said that they earnestly need to continue making the developments in the remaining season in order to win the championship fight as the competition is awfully tight.
Above and beyond, the hopes of the Woking based team are high and it will be interesting to see how they show up in the remaining eight races of the current season.
