Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa at it again during the Indian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa just cannot get enough of each other. At the inaugural Indian Grand Prix, Hamilton and Massa crashed into each other once again.
Hamilton placed at 6th was behind Massa trying to overtake Massa for some time, but was not able to get the pace to be able to do that. Even in the DRS zones, with the DRS on, Hamilton was unable to overtake Massa.
Finally, Hamilton got a sight to make his way through the Ferrari of Massa, but as he was half way up the Ferrari, Massa turned crashing into him. Hamilton’s Mercedes pushed the Ferrari into the gravel and both cars survived to go on.
Although a lap later, Massa’s Ferrari had a mechanical issue and his bid for a point in the Indian Grand Prix is over.
Although it was not clear on the radio but it seemed like Hamilton instantly said that he (Massa) faced into him, suggesting he was not able to do anything. Even though there has been a lot of criticism over Hamilton’s on track behaviour, at the race today
it was Massa who was criticised for his shocking move and is most likely to visit the stewards over the incident.
Commentators were also shocked to see the move from Massa, which according to them is “very naïve driving.” Hamilton dropped to 9th after the incident, but moved up to 7th overtaking Fernando Alonso and
Sebastien Buemi who had a good race going on so far, had to face car trouble and abandon the race.
Hamilton before the race suggested that he is going to put all his focus to Formula 1 now, and that he is going to live and breathe the sport because there is just no other way one can have it, if he wants to get back into the form he used to be.
Admittedly, this has not been a good season for Hamilton, but he started to show signs of a recovered driver as he achieved a pole position at the Singapore Grand Prix, and had a podium finish.
The Indian Grand Prix is still going on, with Vettel dominating the race and Button splitting the two Red Bull drivers, Webber being the other one. The action is still going on and it will be interesting to see how far Hamilton moves up and if Webber is
able to go past the in-form Button.
