Lewis Hamilton battles with the familiar, old rival, Fernando Alonso
The long-lived bitter fight continues! The McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton has proclaimed only a while ago that all he aims for the next race is to chop off as many points as possible from the old enemy, Fernando Alonso.
The McLaren driver is one of the very old and hostile rivals of the Ferrari driver. The enmity has been practiced very openly and bluntly between them in earlier years when the two raced together in McLaren. They had been unfriendly and hostile to each other
not only on the track but also a similar rift has always been witnessed between the two off the track as well.
Now, as the two head for another very critical race of the season their enmity is very loud and clear. The McLaren driver has very openly admitted that all he is trying to achieve for the next round is to steal as many points as he can from the Ferrari driver.
Alonso currently leads the Drivers’ Championship with his 231 points whereas Hamilton stands at third place with his 210 points. The last race of the season at the Korean track dropped the Red Bull driver, Mark Webber to 2nd place, who is now
sandwiched between the two.
With only two more races to go and just 50 points to play for, now the drivers are not left with anytime to spare, nor can they afford to make any mistake on the track.
Moreover, the local weather forecast agency of the country has announced an expected rainfall on the race weekend. This means the battle of the drivers has now turned to be more intense and tough than ever before.
The last race of the season in Korea was another rain filled race weekend that saw the two drivers finish at 1st and 2nd places as Alonso bagged the 5th victory of the season. Recalling the last race, Hamilton says that he
is hoping to see another tight battle in the rain with the old teammate.
He aggressive driver said, “He was two-time world champion when I was the rookie and it was great racing him. And he's one of the toughest competitors I've ever competed against. I've not had the chance to have races with too many people. I've not had any
battles with Jenson Button this year and we have been dying to have one."
