Lewis Hamilton confronts he is not favourite for Brazilian GP
The McLaren driver, Lewis Hamilton proclaimed earlier today that he accepts the fact that he is not the favourite driver for the Brazilian Grand Prix, which is scheduled to take place this Sunday. However, he is adamant to give
his best and despite of all the odds he believes that winning is not impossible.
He admitted the fact that the team had little chances of winning due to a number of reasons, of which the major one is their pace. The McLaren driver has announced a number of times earlier as well that they do not possess one
of the fastest cars of the season.
Now, as they move ahead for the 18th race of the season, he is not very upbeat for his chances in the forth coming race. Moreover, he added that he would give in his best no matter what.
He further revealed that the team had a few updates in the past few weeks and he is now counting on those for a good finish. "We go to Brazil knowing that we may not have the fastest car, but we'll have a decent package that should
work well. We have a strong engine and good straight-line speed, so I think we'll still be quick," the 25-year-old said.
He also commented that Interlagos had always been a thrilling circuit for him and driving there was definitely a "unique experience". The venue holds a lot of memories for the driver. He lost the battle for the title at the same track during his debut season
with Formula One in 2007, whereas, he was able to bag the first championship of his career the very next year at the same track.
While recalling the events now, the British driver said, "In my first year in Formula One, I battled past a load of cars but could only finish seventh, losing out on the world championship. The following year, I had another tricky race, but managed to take
fifth position on the final lap to win the world title."
He further went on telling that he had raced the most amazing round of his career here when, despite of a poor qualifying of 17th place on the grid, he was able to finally end the race day at third position in 2009.
He concluded saying, "I'd like a nice, straightforward race this year.”
