McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton considers Fernando Alonso of Ferrari and Red Bull Racing his main rivals in 2012 Formula 1 World Championship.
Hamilton topped the timesheets in the first two free practice sessions of the Hungarian GP held at Hungaroring in Budapest.
Afterwards, he expressed that he is very much delighted with his performance in the Friday practice and said that he felt really comfortable behind the wheel of his upgraded car. Moreover, he said that he is extremely grateful to all his team members who
have shown tremendous support in the season so far.
However, he said that he is expecting a tight competition in the race ahead and asserted that the defending champions and the current leader in drivers’ championship, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari are his main competitors. In addition, he said that he is projecting
a tough fight from Lotus too as they have come up very well until now.
“It's been a real positive day for me,” he said. “I'm very happy and guys did fantastic job. We made some good changes to get it dialled in and we're on right path. We've still got work to do and we know that Red Bull looks very quick, as does the Lotus
and the Ferrari as well. We're by no means feeling comfortable and we're going to keep pushing.”
“Tomorrow when we get into qualifying I have no doubts that Fernando will all of sudden find half second and I have no doubt that Red Bulls will find chunk of time,” he added.
Furthermore, he said that they are making the best of the efforts to continue their aggressive developmental process in order to fight for the championship title this year.
Besides, he said that he is feeling confident about the forthcoming race regardless of facing problems in the last three grands prix. He also said that he has got a lot of love and support from his fans and is focussing to show his best in the upcoming season.
Above and beyond, it will be thrilling to see how the 2008 world champion performs in the season ahead.
