Lewis Hamilton feels disturbed after 2012 German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is feeling disturbed after his retirement in the 2012 German Grand Prix and asserted that he can’t afford anymore DNFs in the season ahead.
Hamilton stood amongst one of the most consistent point scorers during the start of the current season as he secured impressive third podium finishes in the first three grands prix. Moreover, he claimed pole positions in the first two races.
Conversely, he suffered due to poor pit stop strategy in the next couple of races and struggled with the limited downforce in the last few races. Additionally, he was retired in the preceding race as he had an issue in his car’s rear wing.
At present, he is standing at fifth place in the drivers’ championship with 92 points. Besides, he is ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and is behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus. Furthermore, he is 62 points behind the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who
is currently leading the drivers’ rankings.
Although, he said that he has lost some crucial points in the previous race which has made it very difficult for him to fight back for the championship title. Nevertheless, he said that they are making some consideration advancements to get even in the forthcoming
race.
“It was as big a dent [to my championship hopes] as you could probably take, just as Valencia was,” he said. “Through a season, not finishing race is as big dent as you can take. There's only certain amount of dents you can take like that, especially when
guy that is leading has finished every race.”
In addition, he admired the performance of his teammate, Jenson Button who secured an inspiring second podium finish after starting from 6th grid position.
“First looking at Jenson's result it was fantastic so we know we've got quick car,” he said. “Looking at pace that I had during race and issues that we had to know that I was losing so much downforce but was still quite competitive is definitely comforting.”
Over and above, it will be thrilling to see how the Woking based team performs in the race ahead.
