Lewis Hamilton hopes for a trouble free 2012 Canadian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton is hoping for a trouble free 2012 Canadian Grand Prix which is to be held at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal on June 10.
Hamilton is presently standing at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 63 points. Moreover, he is 10 points behind Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing and 4 points ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.
In addition, he has emerged as one of the most consistent drivers in the season so far as he secured third podium finish in the first three grands prix out of which he claimed pole positions in the first two of them.
Afterwards, although he topped the timesheets in the qualifying of the Spanish GP however, he failed to meet the requirement of minimum fuel in the car before moving back to the pits. Nevertheless, he still managed to secure 8th place finish in the race.
Furthermore, he struggled during the fourth and sixth race as he could only secure 8th and 5th place finishes even after setting off from competitive grid positions because he lost some crucial time due to poor pit stop strategy.
Nonetheless, he said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the next race and expecting that his team will come up stronger in Montreal.
“It's not hard to look forward at all,” said Hamilton. “I'm excited for every race, and whatever happens in a race, I always lift myself up and get myself pushing again. I'll be in the gym working as hard as I can, I'll get my mind in the same frame it has
been in every race, making sure I'm doing my job. I just hope we get some updates to edge us closer to the others, and then I hope we have a weekend where we have nothing go wrong, because the other guys are doing a fantastic job.”
Over and above, the Woking based team is currently at second place in the constructors’ rankings. Additionally, they are trying their best to make the necessary advancements and the essential preparations so as to improve the pace of their car in order to
secure a competitive position in this year’s championship.
