Lewis Hamilton keenly looks forward to 2012 United States Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is keenly looking forward to the 2012 United States Grand Prix and is expecting a close race at Circuit of The Americas.
Hamilton showed an incredible pace in the qualifying of the Abu Dhabi GP and claimed the pole position. Later on, he took an impressive start in the race, but was unfortunately retired because of his fuel pressure failure and could not score even a single
point.
The British driver has faced many reliability issues in the season so far due to which he has lost some important points in the championship battle and eventually his expectations to win the title ended.
However, he is not feeling disappointed over the problems which he faced in the preceding races and is aiming to perform well in the last two rounds of the ongoing season.
Furthermore, he has said that he is very excited about the next weekend’s race which is going to be held at a completely new circuit in the calendar. In addition, he said that he is expecting a strong race in USA which will be a great entertainment for the
fans.
“I have to admit - I'm absolutely made-up that we're going back to the States,” Hamilton said. “It's a fantastic country and a place where our sport truly deserves to be. I think the Circuit of The Americas looks like it could also be the place that modern
F1 finally calls home. I've only driven it on computer and in the sim, but I think it's going to be a track that drivers enjoy, which produces some great, close racing, and which fans will quickly love.”
Besides, the 2008 world champion said that he has made the necessary preparations and is targeting to become the first winner of the United States GP.
“I'm definitely looking to be the first grand prix winner at the Circuit of The Americas,” he added.
It will be exciting to see how all the contenders perform in the approaching race and who scores the first ever victory at the Circuit of The Americas.
