Lewis Hamilton motivated for 2012 European Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is feeling very much motivated for 2012 European Grand Prix which is to be held at Valencia Street Circuit in Spain on June 24.
Hamilton said that it is very hard to make any kind of projections for the forthcoming races as there have been seven different winners in the first seven races. However, he expressed that he is confidently looking forward to perform well in the upcoming
races.
“People are always asking me to predict what will happen at the next race and I always tell them it's really difficult to make an accurate prediction - but I'll be heading to Valencia feeling super-motivated to get another strong result and maintain my momentum
before we head into Silverstone and the Santander British Grand Prix,” he said.
At present, he is leading the drivers’ championship with 88 points. Furthermore, he is 2 points ahead of the Spaniard, Fernando Alonso who has a lead of just 1 point over the defending champion, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull.
The 2008 world champion delivered an exceptional performance in the Canadian GP held at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal on June 10 and claimed his first victory of this year. Besides, his strategy to take two pit stops helped him to overtake Vettel
and Alonso who led the race for quite a long time, during the ending laps.
Moreover, he has emerged as one of the most consistent drivers in the season so far as he claimed back-to-back pole positions in first two races and secured impressive third podium finishes in the first three grands prix.
Additionally, he said that to score reasonable points in each and every race ahead and to perform with consistency is the key to win the championship.
“I think that consistency, rather than individual strong results, will be the key to winning this world championship, so we need to back it up in Valencia with another strong result,” he said.
The British driver is undoubtedly one of the most competitive contenders in this season. Over and above, it will be very exciting to see how the season makes progress for him and his team.
