Lewis Hamilton not ready to concede championship just yet
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has not given up on winning the Drivers’ World Championship just yet, despite scoring no points in the last two races. The Englishman
knows he faces a tough challenge to overturn the 20-point deficit to Mark Webber, who sits at the top of the points table following his third place finish in Singapore on Sunday.

Hamilton told BBC Sport "20 points is a massive gap with four races to go. I have to hope for something. But the points gap is just a race victory away. It's
not insurmountable."
Hamilton, who stated third on the grid on Sunday, crashed out on Lap 36 after colliding with Webber, as the pair battled for position. Webber was able to continue,
but Hamilton’s left-rear tyre was blown in the collision, costing him valuable points. It’s the second time in two races that Hamilton’s supposed ‘aggressive’ racing style may go some way to costing him the Championship. Last time out, in Monza, he ambitiously
tried an overtake on the first lap but collided with Felipe Massa, denying him another possible podium position.
It leaves Hamilton with a mountain to climb, as he sits in third place in the overall standings, probably needing Webber to record a no finish in one of the remaining
four races if he is to catch the Australian now. It’s a far cry from a few weeks ago, where Hamilton had been leading the tight title race, and with his car getting ever closer to the Red Bulls in terms of speed and performance, many expected the Englishman
to get over the line.
Now, he’s relying on others to do him a favour in order to secure his second World Championship. However, the last time Hamilton won the Championship, he snatched
it at the very last corner of the last race when all looked lost, so he’d be well advised to keep plugging away.
