Lewis Hamilton ready to strike back in 2012 German Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton says that he is ready to strike back in 2012 German Grand Prix which is to be held at Hockenheimring on July 22.
Hamilton could only secure 8th place finish in the British GP as he struggled with the limited downforce and tyre management. Moreover, he faced problems with the changing weather conditions during the weekend in Silverstone.
Additionally, he could not pocket even a single point in the European GP as he came 19th because of his collision with Pastor Maldonado of Williams.
Nevertheless, he is not feeling upset over his uncompetitive finish in the last two grands prix and is aiming to score some reasonable points in the approaching races.
In addition, he said that the current season has been quite unpredictable as compared to the preceding one in which Sebastian Vettel completely dominated.
“It's not like last year with Sebastian Vettel [dominating]. We're still in the hunt. Of course, there are races that could, possibly should have been better but that's racing,” he said. “This is a fantastic team with a history of winning in F1 and things
can change quickly. I don't feel like I've had my lucky spell yet this season.
Besides, he said that he has been trying his best to attain better results for his team and is contended with his performance in the season so far.
“I'm satisfied with the way I'm performing. I feel I'm getting the best out of my races. I'm as strong as I've ever been this season, stronger than my first year and when I was world champion,” he said.
Presently, the 2008 world champion is at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 92 points. Furthermore, he is ahead of Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus and is behind the defending champion, Vettel.
The British driver has been one of the most consistent point scorers in the season so far as he secured striking third podium finish in the first three races. Moreover, he took an incredible victory in the Canadian GP held at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in
Montreal and is surely one of the most competent contenders in this year’s championship battle.
