Lewis Hamilton says Mercedes are working hard to resolve their reliability issues – Formula 1 News
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that they are working hard to resolve their reliability issues which they faced in the Spanish Grand Prix to come up stronger in Monaco.
Hamilton performed incredibly well in the qualifying at Circuit de Catalunya and managed to secure second grid position for the race. However, he failed to maximise on his qualifying performance and could not
score even a single point as he struggled with the tyre degradation issue the race. In contrast, his teammate, Nico Rosberg also delivered a remarkable performance in the qualifying of the preceding race and secured his second pole position of the season.
However, the German driver could only secure 6th place finish in Barcelona.
The British driver has said that they are not feeling upset over their results in the preceding race and are looking forward to resolve the problems which they faced in Barcelona to perform well in the season
ahead.
“Whilst there hasn't been a lot of time since Barcelona, we've been working hard to put the disappointment of the last race behind us and focus on the opportunities ahead,” Hamilton said.
Besides, he said that he is keenly waiting to race at Circuit de Monaco in Monte Carlo and is targeting to attain competitive results for this team.
“Monaco is one of my favourite races of the year and I love driving the streets there. As a driver, you know that you have to perform on every single lap and it's a challenge that I really enjoy. It's a real
experience to see barriers flashing past at high speed and I love the fact that the fans can get so close to the track making for a great atmosphere,” he added.
At present, he is standing at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 50 points. Additionally, he is ahead of his major rival, Felipe Massa of Ferrari. On the other hand, Rosberg is at 9th place
in the drivers’ standings with 22 points. Moreover, he is ahead of Jenson Button of McLaren and behind Paul di Resta of Force India.
It will be exciting to see how they show up in the forthcoming race in Monte Carlo.
