Lewis Hamilton, who is going to join Mercedes in the 2013 Formula 1 season, has said that he can go back to his home team, McLaren in the future.
Hamilton’s contract with the Woking based team will end at the conclusion of this year and he has signed a new deal with the Brackley based team where he is going to replace, Michael Schumacher who has decided to say goodbye to F1.
Moreover, he will drive alongside Nico Rosberg who is one of his oldest friends in the sport right from the days of karting.
After signing the contract, the British driver expressed that he is really very happy with his decision and is eagerly looking forward to the new challenge in this career. In addition, he said that he will try his best to come up stronger in the coming year
with his new team and hopes to take it to new heights in the future.
Meanwhile, the team principal of Mercedes, Ross Brawn said that they are targeting to develop a competent car for the 2008 world champion so that he can perform well right from the start of the season. Besides, he said that they have full confidence in their
next year’s driver line-up which is capable enough of winning the world championship.
Conversely, McLaren team principal, Martin Whitmarsh asserted that the 27-year-old will face difficulties in the next season.

“You can never say never and I've had a great time,” said Hamilton. “I think it will always be my home.”
“I'll always look at it as where I've come from. Going back there would be nice one day. But I want to go and experience some things for a bit,” the Briton said. “It's almost like leaving home and going travelling for a bit. But I'm doing it with a different
company.”
“No, I'm really, really happy about it. You can't live with regrets in your life,” he added.
