Lewis Hamilton says he has nothing to say to Felipe Massa – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he has nothing to say to Ferrari driver Felipe Massa following their 2011 Singapore Grand Prix accident.
Lewis Hamilton is at the centre of a lot of controversies in the ongoing 2011 Formula 1 season. He has been scrutinised for his on-track behaviour. Realising his negative publicity, he mentioned that he is looking to improve his image.
Recently there are rumours that the Grand Prix Drivers Association will be holding a discussion at their meeting on Lewis Hamilton’s track behaviour, although the rumour has been denied by GPDA chief, Rubens Barrichello.
Hamilton says he will try and make sure that he is not involved in incidents similar to the Singapore GP one, but believes that he has done a good job to bounce back from the overflow of criticism thrown his way.
While talking to BBC he was quoted as saying, “I'm trying my best to avoid those things but I've been in awkward positions this year. I'm trying my hardest. I'm still here, still fighting, and I'm not giving up.”
“Obviously I'd like to be winning and doing a better job. Am I in the best place in my life? No, there's been a lot of negative stories. But what's most important is still I rise, I'm here, fighting again, I'm here in front of all the cameras and media regardless
of how many negative stories there are and I'm here to fight another day,” he added further.
Hamilton also believes that he was unfortunate to make the mistakes in the season so far. He said that drivers only have a split second to react and sometimes they do not get it right. He gave an example of a juggler who can sometimes drop the ball and he
is just dropping the ball a little more often than he would like to.
The Brit further added that he will not be talking to Massa about the Singapore collision as he had no issue to highlight. He said that he paid the price for the collision with the penalty from the race stewards.
