Lewis Hamilton says he makes his own decisions without reporting to anyone – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that nothing controls him in his new team and he makes his own decisions without reporting to anyone.
Hamilton left his home team at the end of 2012 and moved to the Brackley based team as Michael Schumacher’s replacement. During the start of his Formula 1 career, he was managed by his father, Anthony Hamilton and was later controlled by McLaren team boss,
Ron Dennis who was very kind to him. However, he has said that everything has changed now and he is no more controlled by anyone in the Silver Arrows.
The British driver said that although he sees a boss in his team principal, Ross Brawn, but he makes his own choices and doesn’t report to any person.
“I'm hoping people have changed their perception of me since 2007,” he told the Daily Mail. “I was in a very controlled environment for as long as I remember and only recently have I come out of that. Nothing controls me now. I've obviously got a boss in
Ross Brawn, but now I make the decisions and I don't have to report to anyone.”
Besides, he said that he used to get worried about few things during the start of his career. Nevertheless, he asserted that he has overcome all the pressures and feels happy about making his own decisions now.
“There was a time when I would make a call and worry about it, that I was wrong, because of the way I was raised to look to my dad,” he added.
The 28-year-old is considered as one of the most talented drivers in F1. He has stated that he has worked very hard to reach at the position at which he is standing right now.
