Lewis Hamilton says he will make some changes in his contract with McLaren when he re-signs it
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that when he makes a new deal with his current team beyond the 2012 season, he will change some terms in the contract.
Hamilton added that he was very busy and had a lot of burden of some of his commitments with the sponsors. He discussed with the media that his workload was quite high between the Valencia and the recently held Silverstone race weekend. He said he wants
to take some days off before the upcoming German Grand Prix taking place on July 24, 2011 in Nurburgring.
The Brit further added that he has only had a day or two off in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far. In addition, he stated that the daily work without any off has frustrated him, so he is looking forward to a break before the Nurburgring race weekend.
Hamilton said, “I am certain if you look down the paddock there won't be many other drivers that have done what I have been doing over the last two weeks. But what's important is that the sponsors are happy.”
The 26-year-old driver went on to add, “I was supposed to be working today and tomorrow, but I said 'no way' because I've been in England for the last week or so and it has been quite busy here. I was also supposed to be flying in and out of India for a
day on Wednesday, fortunately, for some reason, it has got cancelled. So that's good. I get to be in one place for a period of time.”
The team driver believes if he takes some days off before the German Grand Prix, he can do bit of preparation and get his mind clear for a better performance in the upcoming races of the season.
In recently held British Grand Prix, Hamilton finished his race at the fourth place ahead of the Ferrari’s Felipe Massa. After the Silverstone race weekend, he is hoping for a successful German Grand Prix. Let’s see how he manages the tenth round of this
