Lewis Hamilton strike back at Sebastian Vettel’s comments after the German GP – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has strike back on Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing who called him stupid after 2012 German Grand Prix.
Hamilton had a puncture during the second lap of the German GP and came between Vettel and Fernando Alonso of Ferrari after his pit stop. Resultantly, the defending champion lost some crucial time and was overtaken by Jenson Button of McLaren.
Afterwards, the German driver said that he didn’t understand the stance of the Briton and asserted that he should use some commonsense.
“If you want to go quick and you have no chance to win the race you should respect that and use common sense,” said Vettel.
On the other hand, the 2008 world champion has hit back on Vettel and said that he is not bothered anyway. Moreover, he said that he did what he thought to be right and he is not feeling upset over it. He added that he never gives up and is confidently looking
forward to bounce back in the upcoming races.
“It doesn't really bother me what he says,” Hamilton told the Daily Mirror. “I guess it shows his maturity. I don't think I've made any silly decisions throughout the race. I had nothing to gain apart from staying out of the way of my team-mate. I never
give up, so I'm not going to back off and let everyone past me when I've got the pace to go past the guy in front.”
At present, he is standing at fifth place in the drivers’ rankings with 92 points. Additionally, he is ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and is behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
Besides, he is undeniably one of the strongest contenders in this season’s championship fight. Although, he has struggled in the last two races, nevertheless, is aiming to improve his performance in the forthcoming races.
Meanwhile, the Woking based team is standing at third position in the constructors’ championship with 160 points. Furthermore, they are behind Ferrari and are ahead of Lotus.
Over and above, it will be extremely thrilling to see how they progress in the season ahead.
