Lewis Hamilton targets fight back in 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has said that he is targeting to fight back in 2012 Hungarian Grand Prix which is going to be held Hungaroring on July 29.
Hamilton struggled in the German GP because of an issue in his car’s rear wing and could not pocket even a single point as he was retired after 56 laps. Moreover, he lost some crucial time during the race because of a puncture in the second lap.
Even though, he said that he had a competitive start at Hockenheimring and delivered an incredible pace during the start of the race. Conversely, he faced some difficulties which eventually caused his retirement.
Nonetheless, he asserted that he is not feeling upset over his poor performance in the preceding race and is aiming to bounce back in the Hungarian GP.
“At least I was able to have some fun out on track - my pace was good enough to be able to match the leaders during the middle stint,” said the British driver. “And that's encouraging for me, because we know our car's been genuinely quick this weekend. A
big thank-you to everyone back at the factory for all their efforts to get a lot of new parts onto the car this weekend - every little bit helps, and we know there's even more in the pipeline. We'll put that pace in our pockets and take it to Hungary next
weekend.”
Currently, the 2008 world champion is standing at 5th position in the drivers’ championship with 92 points. Furthermore, he is behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus and is ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes.
Additionally, it will be important to mention that although he performed with an incredible consistency during the start of the current season and claimed an inspiring victory in the Canadian GP at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montreal. However, has been
seen struggling with finding his true pace in the last three grands prix in which he could only score 4 points.
Nevertheless, he surely stands amongst one of the most competent drivers in the field and it will be very exciting to see how he shows up in the season ahead.
