Lewis Hamilton targets to drive aggressively in the season ahead – Formula 1 news
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has said that although he cannot be ahead of his teammate, Nico Rosberg, all the time, he will try his best to score wins and will drive aggressively in the season ahead.
Hamilton has performed convincingly well in the season so far and is currently standing at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 99 points. Moreover, he is ahead of his main rival, Mark Webber of Red Bull Racing and behind Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus.
Additionally, he scored three podium finishes in the season so far. However, he has not been able to score even a single win in the season so far.
In contrast, although Rosberg is currently at sixth place in the drivers’ standings with 84 points, he has claimed two race victories until now.
The British driver said that a driver learns from experience and he has learnt that he cannot win all the time which is the biggest lesson he has got in his F1 career so far.
“What you learn is to take losses on the chin and to learn and grow from those experiences. You can’t always be ahead of your team-mate. You can’t win all the time, that’s the biggest thing I have learned [in 2013],” he said.
Nevertheless, he said that he is not feeling upset over his failure to score a race win in the season so far. He also asserted that he is confidently looking forward to perform aggressively in the forthcoming races and is targeting to claim victories.
“Some things happen for a reason. But I am still the same as always. I drive aggressively and go out to win,” he added.
It will be important to mention that the 2008 world champion appeared quite near to his first win in his home race as he took an incredible start at Silverstone circuit after attaining the pole position. However, he failed to maintain his lead in the race
as his rear left tyre was exploded.
Let’s see how the Briton performs in the approaching races and whether he will be able to achieve his targets or not.
