Lewis Hamilton terms teammate Jenson Button’s performance in 2011 season incredible – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has termed his teammate Jenson Button’s performance in the 2011 Formula 1 season as incredible.
Hamilton said that it is a fact Button has been better during the races in the season so far as compared to him.
The Brit added that Button is doing really good job for McLaren since the last few races of the ongoing season.
Hamilton commented, “I think for me now it's just to find my ground and improve on the results that we've had in the last four races.”
He went on to mention, “Jenson's done an incredible job...I feel he's done a better job all season, really. So even if I did a better job in the next five races it doesn't mean a lot to me. I mean, it's through a whole year. I was able to just ignore it
and move on.”
The 26-year-old driver has won only two races in the season so far at China and Germany.
The Woking-based outfit driver took a strong start in the recently held Singapore race weekend, as he managed his Free Practice session 1 in a very decent manner at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
After that, he successfully secured a fourth place for Sunday’s race in the qualifying round at the Singapore street circuit.
Hamilton started his Singapore Grand Prix from the fourth position on the opening grid and after struggling with his MP4-26 car following a drive-through penalty due to his contact with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, he ended up in the fifth spot.
The McLaren driver had a gap of 67.7 seconds from the race winner Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel in Singapore and after putting all of his efforts, he came ahead of Paul di Resta of Force India on the final race classifications.
After taking part in 14 rounds of the season, Hamilton is sitting at the fifth position with 168 points in the 2011 drivers’ championship.
Let’s see how he manages the last five races of the 2011 F1 season following his fifth position in Singapore.
