Lewis Hamilton voted as the “Coolest driver” in Formula 1

After a fan based survey, McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton was voted as the coolest driver of 2010 while his teammate Jenson Button was voted as the 2nd coolest driver in Formula 1.
Both of the drivers had a remember-able season this year as both of them were competing for the title actively until the very end of the season. Jenson Button fought for the title until the 2nd last race of the season but after being mathematically
ruled out, he had no other option but to help his teammate Lewis Hamilton at the grand finale in Abu Dhabi.
Lewis Hamilton was the least favourite driver for the title at the grand finale as he needed to finish 20 points ahead of the championship leader Fernando Alonso.
However, neither Fernando not Lewis was able to secure the title but in fact; Sebastian Vettel won the title and became the youngest Formula 1 champion in history.
Nevertheless, after the 2010 season, Hilton Racing provided the fans with a series of questions in order to establish who they thought was the “Rookie of the Year”, “Overtake of the Year” and a number of similar questions.

The survey included some fun questions as well like “the driver fans would like to have a drink with” etc.
Lewis Hamilton’s girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger was named as the WAG of the year while Lewis won the coolest driver, Best Dressed and Best over taker Awards.
Jenson Button won the driver most people would like to have a drink with award ahead of his teammate and Michael Schumacher.
Nico Hulkenberg was named as the “Rookie of the Year” fortunately while Lotus Racing won the “Best new team” award as they outscored Virgin Racing and HRT.

These kinds of surveys are very helpful for the sport as many drivers who are not appreciated throughout the season and struggle to gain some publicity find out what their fans think of them and where they rate them.

It was interesting to see that most of the fans want a Formula 1 Grand Prix in London and New York in the near future. A new British venue in the near future is not a bad idea for the near future.
