Lewis Hamilton vows to train hard during midseason break – Formula 1 news
Lewis Hamilton has claimed that he will work hard during the midseason break in order to stay fit, come back stronger and fight for race victories.
The Briton said, “I’m just going to train over this summer break. Normally I don’t really train much over the summer break, maybe just a little bit, but I mostly enjoy and relax. This time I’m going to train intensely, continue doing what I did last week,
get my head down and come back hopefully stronger for the second half of the season.”
Before the Hungarian GP, it appeared that none of the Mercedes drivers would be able to cause problems for the championship contenders. However, Hamilton has changed the entire situation, after winning the previous round of the 2013 Formula 1 season and
could possibly be fighting for the title by the end of the year.
At the moment, the 2008 world champion is quite a way back compared to the championship leader Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull. However, he just needs a couple of more victories, which will allow him to make a statement. He seems pretty much confident of shaking
up the order, as his car is working well in all conditions.
Moreover, there are a few upcoming races, which will be determined by the speed of the cars and there is no other machine faster than the Mercedes at the moment. The team has been doing consistently well during the qualifiers, which means that they will
always be in a position to finish on the podium regularly.
When asked about the confidence level, Hamilton replied, “There is no better feeling for a team to going into a break with a win. I was lucky enough to do it with McLaren. It was always a real good boost for them to go into that period of time relaxed, knowing
that we’d had a win.”
He went onto say that he is currently feeling great to have the momentum on his side, going into the midseason break. It will be interesting to see how the Briton performs in the next few events, as that might determine his fate in the championship.
