Lewis Hamilton’s performance summary in 2012 Formula 1 season until now
McLaren driver Lewis Hamilton has been one of the most competent drivers in the field of 2012 Formula 1 season and has surely got a strong chance to win the championship title.
Hamilton is presently standing at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 117 points. Moreover, he is behind the defending champion, Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull Racing and is ahead of Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus who has emerged as a great threat for
all the contenders in the current season.
He performed tremendously well in the first three grands prix as he secured third podium finish and claimed pole position in the first two races. Later, he struggled during the next two races with the poor team operations and could only come 8th
in the charts.
Nevertheless, he performed reasonably well in the Monaco GP in which he secured fifth place finish after setting off from 3rd grid position. Later on, he performed amazingly well in the Canadian GP in which he took his first victory of the season
after taking a start from second place in the grid.
Afterwards, he faced immense problems which included the lack of downforce and poor tyre management in the European GP in which he remained unable to score any points as he came 19th even after starting from second grid slot.
Later on, he came 8th in the British GP after starting from the same grid slot and struggled with the issue of tyre variation due to rainy weather conditions. Then, he could not score even a single point in the German GP as he was retired.
Over and above, after facing problems in the previous few races, the 2008 world champion came back extremely well in the Hungarian GP and scored his second victory of the current season after claiming an impressive pole position.
