Lewis Hamilton’s stars shine bright all through the 2010 season
He is as happy as one could be. All stars are shining bright for Lewis Hamilton of McLaren this year. He had been able to get hold of one podium after the other and had stayed glued to the top position of the Drivers’ Championship for around two months now.
The ever famous aggressive man is finally glad enough that he could not stop smiling. As he returns from the home race, last weekend at the Silverstone circuit, he talks to the Formula One official website expressing his joy and happiness as he once again secured his position at the top of the charts finishing the race at second place.
Hamilton was expecting to go unbeaten at the British Grand Prix, not only because it was his home race but also because he had been in great form all through the season. Also because the team car had under gone some major advancements for this race. Nonetheless, as he ended at the second place he still thought that the weekend had not been a bad one.
He told that he was very, very happy, happier than he could show because he was not able to do very good at the practice sessions and that somehow made him a little concerned about how he was going to perform. However, he added that the team had worked really hard all over the weekend and had provided them with real good competitive cars on the grid. He was proud to say that the team had been successful in moving yet another step forward and had been able to cement their position at top of the Constructors’ Championship.
He told that it was a great feeling to be up there on the podium and see all the fans and their support. He added that racing at the British Grand Prix had always been a unique experience as standing here at the podium is marvellous. Previously Hamilton was able to win here in the year 2008 and that was the same year when he also had grabbed the title for the World Champion, being the youngest racer to have claimed the title at the age of twenty three.
The year 2009 though did not prove very good for the Briton driver. However, he was able to get back the momentum right from the start of this year. So far he had been able to claim two race wins, one at the Turkish Grand Prix and the other at the Canadian Grand Prix. Also three times he had been able to finish for the second position on the podium earlier this year in China, later in Valencia, Spain, and finally third time at his home race. Also the start of the year proved lucky for him as he finished at third place in Bahrain at the season opener.
At the moment he stands tall at the top of the points tally for the Drivers’ Championship with a total of one hundred and forty five points with his team mate following him with a total of one hundred and thirty three points.
Similarly, the team, McLaren had been able to stand at the top of the charts with two hundred and seventy eight points followed by Red Bull that have been successful in claiming two hundred and forty nine points in total so far.
For Hamilton all clouds seem to have thick silver linings this season. With half of the season already gone, the twenty five year old had been able to prove his mettle and determination all through the season. Well the popular guy and all his big fan club have their fingers crossed as the Formula One caravan moves forward towards its next destination, Germany.
