“I'm delighted to be back here with all those crazy fans. I'm a bit mad myself, so it's the perfect fit. There were around 60,000 in the ground for the Supercup - almost all of them in blue and white. It's every footballer's dream to play in front of a crowd like that,” he concluded.
Lewis Holtby has so far made nine league appearances for Schalke in his two years at the club.
