The Schalke youngster missed out on the final 23-man squad for Germany and is targeting a place in the next World Cup team.
Holtby was left out along with goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sven-Bender-c34386 for the upcoming European championship in Poland and Ukraine after initially being named in the provisional squad.
The midfielder claimed that he was excited ahead of the championship and was confident that he had made his place in the squad after some good performances. However, Joachim Low thought otherwise and left him out of the final squad.

“I was keen on going there [Euro 2012] but I had an injury in the winter which put me back a bit and there are a lot of young talented players in Germany right now,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
However, the former Alemannia Aachen player understands how tough a decision it would have been for the manager. The player is targeting a place in the next World Cup squad with the national side and is also excited ahead of the
