Lewis and Taylor star in the never ending captivity for darts

With a whooping purse of 150,000 pounds, the event will once again initiate the frenzy and fervour at Alexandera Palace.
It is important to mention that the World Cup of darts is the only competition where players perform in pairs. This allows the elite of darts to get into action against each other.
The top rated team in the competition is definitely the English duo of reigning champion Adrian Lewis and the Power of darts, Phil Taylor.
Taylor, even after facing a knock out at the hands of Dave Chisnall in his opening encounter at Ladbrokes, was still able to clinch the PDC Player of Darts award this year.
Lewis, on the other hand, was able to grab an award after giving the best effort of producing the most entertaining semi-final against James Wade.
In addition to this, other teams competing in the grand event include the Australian duo of Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson.
Despite an injured hand in the initial rounds, Whitlock was still able to cruise into the quarter finals of the prestigious event held at the end of last month, after he was defeated by runner-up Andy Hamilton.
Apart from this, European control on the game of darts has further been strengthened after players like Raymond van Barneveld and Vincent van der Voort confirmed the presence of their team in the tournament also.
Without moving further into geographical complications, other teams have been formed based on the geographical divisions of United Kingdom.
Other teams included in the tournament are from Northern Ireland, comprising of Brendan Dolan and Michael Mansell.
Belgian players will also be taking part in the competition this time with players like Kim Huybrechts and Kurt Van De Rijck.
The German bloc is being represented by Jyhan Artut and Bernd Roith. In addition to this, other countries like Denmark, Hungary, Croatia, Japan, New Zealand and Spain will also be taking part in the World Cup this year.
