Lexapro. Side effects? Mainly for women.?

I have been on lexapro now for a little over a week. I have noticed a few "side effects" that i was wondering if anyone else had. I take it at night and it helps me fall asleep but i am up at 3 in the morning and can't go back to sleep. I am peeing a LOT and my b***s are very tender.It hurts to touch them or put on a bra. Are theses normal or should i call my doctor?

When you start any ani-depresent med you will experience some mild to moderate side affects. but over time I would say a week to 10 days the side affects will subside. Lexapro is a good drug and you will notice a feal differnce within a month all anti-depresents work this way because the have to slowly build up in your blood stream and system.

Side Effects of Lexapro in Studies of Depression

Well, insomnia is very normal while taking this medication. And myalgia is also possible (muscle pain), or I guess chest pain in your case. I don't think it's anything to worry about though. But if you are, call your doctor and make sure.

Also, the frequent urination may or may not be related to the medicine. I know nothing of that kind of side effect from Lexapro, so perhaps you've gotten some kind of infection of something. But if you have, don't freak out, it's not a big deal. I've had that like 2 or 3 times just in this past year. Especially when it's hot outside, it's very easy to get because you sweat a lot. So, if it continues, what you do is talk to your doctor about it and I'm sure he'll either put you on some kind of antibiotic to get rid of the infection, or prescribe you something other than Lexapro to make sure it's not what's causing it.
