Lexapro increase?

I've been on Lexapro 10 mg for 7 weeks. I'm upping my dose to 20 mg on Monday. How long will it take to get the feel of the increased dose? Also, I've already asked this, but anyone have any side effects from the increase? Thanks.

  1. Side effects are so uniquely individual that it would be hard to guess what you might experience. If you experienced any side effect initially, when you first went on Lexapro, then I would guess you could have more of the same. It seems logical that it will take as long to feel the effects of the increase as it initially took you to feel the effects of the lower dose.

  2. im on Lexapro too.  I love it and find that I notice a difference that very day that I take it.  I ran out once and thought I shouldnt refill my prescription and boy...were those some rough days.  But the day I took the pill again I felt WAY better.  I notice the effect each day and when I dont take it...I notice that too.

If it isnt working for you I would talk to your doctor about maybe finding something stronger. But if increasing your dose is what your doctor recomended I would expect you to notice right away.

    Good Luck

Edit:  I looked at the website and it said that it could take 4-6weeks for you to notice.
