Lexi Thompson extends lead in the third round of Omega Dubai Ladies Master: Live Leaderboard

American prodigy Alexis “Lexi” Thompson has done well so far to maintain her overnight lead in the third round of the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, carding an impressive one-under so far and is still playing for her last three holes on the Emirates Golf Club.
Thompson started of her day with eight-under going in the third round and had a two stroke lead over the nearest competitor. She fell for an early bogey on par-four, 1st but regained her composure on the fifth with a birdie. She made the turn to
pull in two more birdies on the back nine and dropped another shot at par-three, 15th.
Thompson shot to fame when she won her first professional title, playing on the LPGA as a low amateur. Aged 16, she did not qualify for the full membership status on the LPGA but Tour commissioner Michael Whan’s personal interest saw her become the youngest
permanent member of the tour. She has now full playing status on the LPGA.
South African Lee-Anne Pace pulled in her best round so far in the event, carding a third round score of five-under, 67 to stay in contention for the top slot. She is tied for the second spot for the moment alongside Sophie Gustafson. Both players are now
tied for an eight-under on the aggregate while Gustafson is still playing for her final holes.
Rampaging rookie Caroline Hedwall of Sweden has finally decided to come out of obscurity, carding a round of four-under, 68 on the third day. After a sloppy start of the event with an opening three-over, 75 and another 69 on the second day, Hedwall is hoping
to win her fifth Ladies European Tour title for the year. The 22-year-old Swede carded five birdies and dropped just one shot at par-four, 12th on the back nine.
No fewer than four players are tied for the fourth spot including Swede Pernilla Lindberg, Paraguayan Julieta Granada, Becky Morgan of Wales and South African Stacey Lee Bergman. All four players are poised at an aggregate score of seven-under for the moment.
Lindberg, Morgan and Granada are still playing for the last hole of the 18-hole stretch.
