Lexi Thompson ready to defend title in Dubai

American Lexi Thompson is ready to defend her title at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters 2012, with the presence of almost all the key Ladies European Tour (LET) stars in the roster.
Thompson is mostly known as an LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) star, but she has proved that she is able to perform well on the LET as well.
Having won the 2011 Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, Thompson is being ranked among the hot favourite contenders for the battle set to kick off from December 5-8, at Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The American star is expected to do her best this time, but she has not been able to perform well enough on the Tour all season.
Thompson participated in just four LET tournaments in the 2012 season, but has not been able win any. She first showed up at the Gold Coast Racv Australian Ladies Masters, and displayed a
decent performance as she finished tied for the 15th position.
She then took part at the ISPS Handa Australian Open 2012, but could not finish inside the top 20. The Evian Masters 2012 saw Thompson miss the cut as she carded 74 and 75.
The Ricoh Women’s British Open was the scene of disappointment as she came close to finishing inside the top 10. However, she managed to post an overall 297.
Despite brimming with confidence, Thompson will have to face a tough battle as Spanish Carlota Ciganda and German Caroline Masson will likely overshadow the competition.
Ciganda and Masson will fight for the money title, with the former standing at the top position in the ISPS Handa Order of Merit.
Masson currently ranks second on the money list, and will need at least a third-place finish to knock the money leader off the top position.
Ciganda said that she is happy with her performance and will try to cap off the season in winning style.
“I just like to think about playing golf and playing on the course and if you give it 100 percent when you are on the course, I think the result is going to be good and if you play good, you're
going to be at the top,” said Ciganda during her pre-tournament interview on Tuesday.
